MOLASSES
Molasses, thick dark syrup in formation, is a byproduct generated from the manufacture of sugar. It is retrieved during sugar refining through repetitive crystallization of sugar syrup obtained by sugarcane crushing. Molasses holds out diverse possibilities as a product. It can be sold untreated as well as can be used as the principal feedstock for the manufacture of alcohol and a host of downstream chemicals: ethanol, yeast and cattle feed.
